Luned Rhys Parri sees the potential for nearly everything to become part of an artwork. Scraps of cardboard, foil, wool and newspaper are among the materials that Luned skilfully crafts into playful and often nostalgic three-dimensional scenes describing Welsh life - as the artist knew it growing up and as it is today.
In this film by Pete Telfer, Luned talks about her work Teulu from her home and studio in north Wales. A rare self-portrait, the work features the artist with her husband and two children in their kitchen by the stove. With characteristic attention to small details Luned brings the figures to life for us and invites us into their world. What is it that most draws you into this domestic scene? The meticulously created cooking utensils? The parrot, or the dog?
