In this film the artist Caroline Walker discusses her work and what inspires her. Here Walker explains why she made Conditioning and what’s at the heart of her work. We hear a little about the motifs that return time and again in her artworks.

Conditioning by Caroline Walker is part of Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales’ The Rules of Art? exhibition at National Museum Cardiff from 23 October 2021 to 4 June 2023. The Rules of Art? exhibition brings together five hundred years of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, film and ceramics to pose questions about representation, identity and culture.
