“Ocean Exchange: Trading Waste for Wonders” explores the link between consumer habits and ocean pollution. By placing ocean debris—stones, shells, and marine remnants—alongside everyday products in a shop, the project challenges viewers to reflect on their role in environmental degradation.
During the installation, some customers were uncomfortable seeing trash near products they wanted to buy, while others were curious, asking questions about the impact of consumption. This mix of reactions underscores the need for awareness and conversation about the hidden journey of waste from store to ocean.
Through both the live installation and photography exhibition, this project aims to turn discomfort into reflection and curiosity into change.
