The Horizon Challenge - Bedwyr Williams

To coincide with Tyrrau Mawr being shown at the Museum in Newport I’m creating an exquisite corpse style panoramic drawing (this is the game where one person draws a head, another draws a torso and so on ). This will be a group drawing and the only thing that has to be constant is the horizon line so that all the drawings link together.

I’ve started by creating a city by the sea somewhere not a million miles away from north Wales, sometime in the future. The horizon is exactly half way up this square drawing and is the starting point for everyone else to create their own absurd or wonderful futuristic cities. What businesses will be there? Drive through chiropodists or android rehabilitation centres maybe. Your drawing should have a horizon line at the same point but the town or village you imagine and draw can be as ridiculous or low key as you want. You can flout planning regulations and there’s no need to worry about good taste. Send the drawings to contact@celfarycyd.cymru and we will unveil this improbable row of future Welsh cities.
