'Curly dish', T Material, yellowish glaze, thick walled and slightly uneven, large open dish of an overall oval form with six upturned lobes at the rim, flat base with no foot ring; painted at the centre by hand with a view of Caerphilly Castle after G. W. Manby (1802), the scene in greys and blacks, the sky also including yellow, the pigment is applied in a painterly manner, with a quality reminiscent of watercolour.
