Hotel Plantation, Djibouti
Written on the back of this work is: “I took this photo in Djibouti in 2002. I was watching the street from my window at Hotel Plantation, I hadn't been able to sleep for several nights, and I felt so lazy and lethargic that I didn't leave my room. I was there for a project that I've never completed, Hotel Marinum. This picture has lived in a stack of pictures that has never had a life of its own, just hidden inside of an edit forever. Maybe it's time to put myself back into that project — to finish it.” — Alex Majoli
