Diamond Corn
Mircea Cantor’s Diamond Corn is a sculpture made of glass crystal and was awarded the Derek Williams Trust Artes Mundi purchase prize in 2011. In his work, Cantor encourages discussions on immigration, identity and wealth are global issues, though our experiences are all different. For this work, the artist made a beautiful sculptural object out of basic food stuff which looks at the inequality between the global north and global south, food poverty, and environment destruction for food production.
