A Meteor Fell from the Sky

BOGHIGUIAN, Anna

© Anna Boghiguian/Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales
×

Anna Boghiguian's installation explores the steel industry in India and south Wales, largely from the perspective of workers and the struggle to establish their rights. Developed for two gallery spaces at National Museum Cardiff, the installation is made up of sculpture, photography, drawing and painting. Walls are painted in vibrant blue, magenta and yellow – colours that evoke the processes of steel-making and the high visibility clothing of the workers.

A steel gantry – made in partnership with industrial metalworker and artist Angharad Pearce Jones – crosses the gallery space and supports silhouette portraits of Port Talbot steelworkers.
