Campana-shaped vase, soft-paste porcelain, with square foot, spool-shaped stem, a lip round the rim, a row of applied pearls round the rim and stem, entwined snake handles; enamelled with a scene depicting the Cottage Lace Maker from William Cowper’s poem 'Truth', a pale brown ground and gilded with square classical scrolls inside the rim and with classical leaf and other motifs on the stem and base, the handles completely gilded.
