Raethro, Pink
This is one of American artist James Turrell's early light projection pieces and consists of a rhomboid of pink light projected into the corner of a room, giving the impression of a luminous three-dimensional pyramid hovering in the darkness. As the viewer moves towards this floating pyramid, it eventually disappears into a flat plane of light. Turrell’s practice involves explorations of light and space as he creates ambitious works that focus on our experience of colour in its purest form. His installations are immersive, meditative, and often overwhelming.
