Reptile figure group 'Out of One's Depth' modelled and carved in the round, asymmetric and complex. Misshapen ball shape form, partially covered by five applied sculptural newts or frogs, clambering upwards and over each other and with limbs and bodies entertwined, three towards the top of the dome with one facing towards the back of the piece, above ?six fish heads, three (one with body) modelled emerging from the dome, the other ?three carved on the dome, two lower newts. Clay finely marbled green, pink, orange (especially in folds), cream, blue. Some fine scale texture on newts. Polished finish (powder from polishing remaining in cracks.
