This photograph depicts Lisa Barnard’s son, Milo, bathing in water that has most probably turned a milky-white through the addition of soothing emollient. The expression on the young boy’s face suggests a rare moment of relief from the inflammation and itchiness associated with eczema, a skin condition that affects 1 in 5 children, and 1 in 10 adults in the UK.
