Phenomena secret cargo
JENKINS, Paul
© Paul Jenkins/ADAGP, Paris and DACS, London 2024/Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales
The coloured shapes and marks in this painting are made from pouring, brushing and staining acrylic paint on to a white primed canvas. The artist's choice of the word 'phenomena' in the title suggests it came into being through an event than a preconceived idea. Paul Jenkins was closely associated with the abstract painters of the New York School.
