Vase zoomorphe, la Tarasque
Zoomorphic jug in the form of a bird, buff-white terracotta, standing on four inverted conical feet, rounded body with wedge-shaped tail and conical neck with spouted pan-shaped rim, curved strap handle; glazed all over in white, the form of a monster (the Tarasque) on the breast painted in black and incised through to the clay, the tail also painted in black with the face, teeth and ears of the Tarasque monster, the ears also incised, the neck painted in iron red as a castellated turret with four alternating arched windows in black and white, each containing a painted and incised soldier holding a spear, alternating in contrasting white and black.
