Ice pail
Ice pail, soft paste porcelain, wheel thrown, conventional straight sided form curving to an applied waisted base, moulded and applied handles below the rim each in the form of scrolls supporting a shell. Body painted in enamels with naturalistic groups and sprays of fruit and flowers: a larger group centrally placed on each side, one including half apple, dog rose, plums and flowers, the reverse apple, pear, morning glory etc, small groups under handles, one including rose and peony, the other roses and bluebells? ; single scattered sprays including goosebesrries, rosehips and and assorted flowers. Deep wave band around rim of turquoise enamel, each wave containing an gilded cornucopia of flowers and leaves, further gilding in bands around foot, on moulded handles and at rim.
