Sketchbook: Anglesey, South Stack
PRENDERGAST, Peter
© Estate of Peter Prendergast/DACS 2025/Derek Williams Trust/Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales
Peter Prendergast worked directly from the landscape, making many small sketches and works on paper, which he then took back to his studio to use as a reference for his large paintings. The sketchbooks in the case contain drawings of South Stack in Anglesey, which were used as studies for the painting, Close to Ellin’s Twr, Anglesey, 2004-06.
