Jug of red earthenware. Mediaeval form, standing on a flat spreading base with tall baluster-shaped body and spreading rim with pinched spout; prominent throwing rings, especially round the neck; heavy extruded handle with three deeply impressed finger marks at the lower terminal. The exterior coated in a pale buff slip, with a single rough vertical sgraffito mark down each side; the exterior coated in a bright green glaze, the interior with a yellow glaze, the foot unglazed.

The tradition of public singing springs from the fact that many of the community are or were members of choirs.
