Mark Balakjian was born in Lebanon; he came to London in 1966 to study at Hammersmith School of Art and later at the Slade School of Fine Art. He has taught at a number of art schools and, together with Dorothea Wight, runs Studio Prints in London. He has worked with artists such as Lucian Freud and Leon Kossoff, printing the plates from the After Poussin series in the British Council Collection.
