Sculptural form or vessel, amethyst coloured glass encased within clear glass, crescent-shaped vessel form with deep groove running from the underside of the base and up one side, creating a curved indentation that curls in towards the base; the rim is cut and polished, the surface is otherwise acid etched/polished, giving an opaque finish.

GB. WALES. Aberfan, The Aberfan disaster was a catastrophic collapse of a colliery spoil in the Welsh village of Aberfan, on 21st October 1966, killing 116 children and 28 adults. It was caused by a build-up of water in the accumulated rock and shale, which suddenly started to slide downhill in the form of slurry. 1966.
