To Catch a Cock I

Flynn, Michael

We’re working on releasing this image.

A figure group of raku, with a creamy-white glaze partly decorated with painted oxides (red, yellow, green and silver lustre); the base, formed from two opposed hollow wedges, supports a cock taking off in flight (fixed to the base by its tail with a cemented steel bolt) and a removable figure of a naked man crouching and reaching for the cock's tail with his left hand, his right hand thrown up behind him (with a steel bolt and brass pin fixed to a metal plate attached to one foot, which slot into holes drilled in the base).

We have a duty of care to all our audiences. This website draws on legacy collections data. We recognise that some of this information may be outdated or discriminatory and we're currently working to review our records. If you have any questions or comments on an artwork, please contact us.
