Near Bettws-y-Coed
Cox made annual trips to Betws-y-Coed between 1844 and 1856. He wrote: ‘I wish so much to go into North Wales, it being a country that suits my feeling as to subjects and scenery … one of the principal stations I think is of Betws-y-Coed. There the three rivers unite very near the village, all fine, rocky, and some good timber on the banks besides other scenery which will turn to good account’.
