Bernd and Hilla Becher collaborated on a lifelong project to document industrial structures across Europe and the USA, often before they fell into disrepair. By classifying their subjects into types, the resulting typologies highlight the form and function of each structure, revealing subtle similarities, differences, and recurring architectural details.
