Bowl
Wason, Jason
We’re working on releasing this image.
Bowl, high-fired earthenware, thickened foot ring and gently curving lower body with sharp angle at mid-section, upwards from this point the body is slightly convex and rises to a short upright rim that is slightly flattened; metallic oxides applied to surface giving a deep pink colour to the lower portion of the body and a copper-coloured lustre effect to the upper body and interior, two panels placed at opposite sides of the bowl on the upper body, each with nine evenly-spaced round 'studs', between these panels are two areas of vertical ribbing running around the circumference, the interior of the bowl especially has a roughened/textured surface finish, alluding to cast bronze.
