Jug ('Gothic pitcher') of waisted baluster form, buff-white terracotta, flat base, inturned rim pinched to form a spout, applied strap handle; decorated round the exterior with a frieze of three similar women with incised outlines, their long hair painted in iron red, their arms in dark blue crossed in front of their chests, their flesh painted in grey-green, each wearing a dress or cloak in white with blue specks, green foliage between the figures, on the rim and the handle, unglazed inside with splashes of creamy-white glaze and green pigment.
