Rocks in Anglesey

KARLOWSKA, Stanislawa de

Rocks in Anglesey

 Zoom

Karlowska studied in Warsaw and Kraków in her native Poland, travelling to Paris in 1896 to continue her training at the prestigious Académie Julian. She later moved to London, becoming an important member of The London Group in 1914. Unlike its predecessor, The Camden Town Group, The London Group elected female members. Karlowska’s rich style was influenced by Eastern European folk art and post-impressionism.
