GB. WALES. Aberfan, The Aberfan disaster was a catastrophic collapse of a colliery spoil in the Welsh village of Aberfan, on 21st October 1966, killing 116 children and 28 adults. It was caused by a build-up of water in the accumulated rock and shale, which suddenly started to slide downhill in the form of slurry. The Salvation Army are on hand with food. 1966.

They learn how to protect children from accidents and injury. They learn first aid for choking and bleeding, mouth to mouth and the Heimlich manoeuvre, and dealing with crying and changing diapers etc. At the end of the course they receive a certificate. Here learning how to hold a baby. Here we see Abdominal thrusts being taught. 1997.
