Sculptural piece in the form of a stylised exotic village, red-brown stoneware, standing on a flat-topped rectangular base with curved bottom and edges, the village comprising from left to right a gateway with hinged door, an archway behind entwined with snakes and supporting a linen canopy stretched over a round-ended wooden frame and tied in place by string, to the right a meandering fence leading to a further gateway with steeply stepped roof, behind the fence and in front in a stepped well an elephant, in the gateway to the right a camel; partially covered with a green/blue glaze.
