Noises in the Blood was produced as part of Lua Ribeira’s MA in Documentary Photography at the University of South Wales, Newport. Ribeira worked collaboratively with a group of British Jamaican women in Birmingham to explore Jamaican dancehall culture in the UK. The series explores ideas around femininity, sexuality, ritual, identity and self-expression inherent within the performances.
