JONES, David
We’re working on releasing this image.
This work dates from the time of the artist's closest association with the British 'avant-garde', a year after joining the Seven and Five Society. Jones excelled as a still-life artist, but painted few oil paintings. Here, the paint has been thinned with turpentine so that the white ground shows through, giving the work a luminosity reminiscent of his favourite technique of watercolour painting.
