HITCHENS, Ivon
After studying at St. Johns Wood School of Art and the Royal Academy Schools, Hitchens became a member of the Seven and Five Society in 1922. This Shropshire scene of around 1930 reveals the influence of the sombre landscapes of André Dunoyer de Segonzac (1884-1974), an artist of the school of Paris who exhibited in London during the 1920s.
