Breton boy

JOHN, Gwen

We’re working on releasing this image.
×

Gwen John had been attracted to the sea since her childhood on the Welsh coast at Haverfordwest and Tenby. In France she made a number of visits to Normandy and Brittany, particularly Pleuneuf, where she made a group of spontaneous drawings of local children.

IRELAND. Killarney. Visually the most Irish part of Ireland. The coast around Slea Head is one of the most beautiful in Ireland. It is full of little coves where locals will go for an afternoon by the sea with their families. Seldom a tourist in sight. 1984.
