Bowl; porcelain, slightly elliptical form, standing on a raised circular foot, white porcelain body (china clay, ball clay, felspar and bentonite), wheel thrown, painted with a `bronze' glaze, which is mottled in a fish skin `bloom' on the exterior, and has crawled downwards from the rim on the interior, trailed in a spiral at the centre and inlaid with purple pigment. Similar decoration in bronze and purple inside the foot.
