Earthenware box and cover, rectangular, pedestal foot, over hanging rectangular cover. Honey coloured glaze, crazed. Painted with the 'Scarlet Runner Beans' pattern in overglaze enamels. Two painted bands, red below Meir and Swan orange around flat upper side of foot; band of black wave decoration around cover. Exterior of box and cover scattered with red brown, yellow, and black and hair brown beans. Area of discoloured restoration to underside of cover. Three stilt marks on base.
