North Wales

OFILI, Chris

© Chris Ofili/Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales
×

These works are part of a series where Ofili produced ten etchings in response to a location. North Wales followed Barcelona, Berlin and New York. The etchings are the artist’s way of getting to know North Wales. The imagery obliquely references the chosen site. In using art to understand his surroundings, Ofili prompts us to question what constitutes the landscape genre.
