Crazy Gondolier

DAVIE, Alan

© Alan Davie/Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales
×

This is an abstract painting displaying totemic imagery such as a snake and rainbow. The symbols and motifs are drawn from the unconscious and reflect Alan Davie's interest in Zen Buddhism. The artist's use of an automatic technique is the result of a strong interest in the work of the Surrealists and Jackson Pollock.
