GB. WALES. Aberfan. The Aberfan disaster was a catastrophic collapse of a colliery spoil in the Welsh village of Aberfan, on 21st October 1966, killing 116 children and 28 adults. It was caused by a build-up of water in the accumulated rock and shale, which suddenly started to slide downhill in the form of slurry. 1966.

GB. ENGLAND. The Hammersmith Palais. The premier dance hall of the time. Waiting to be asked to dance. Dance halls are said to be the main meeting place of future marriage partners. It sadly seems that the less one is asked, the more one dresses up. 1963.
