GB. SCOTLAND. St Andrews, The Pier Walk is an ancient University tradition in which all students can take part. On Sundays (and some special occasions), students meet in St Salvators Quad before walking down to the harbour wearing their gowns  the reason for this custom is lost in the mists of time! Gowns encouraged but not compulsory. 1967

IRELAND. Killarney. The most famous Fair in Ireland is the Puck Fair held in Killorglin. It dates back to a grant by James 1st in 1613. The fair is essentially for the sale of livestock and is watched over by the Puck Goat, the largest goat in Kerry who becomes King of the fair for the three day period. 1984.
