Arts Council of Wales
Arts Council of Wales: Helping people make, present and exhibit the arts.
The Arts Council of Wales is the country’s official public body for funding and developing the arts. Every day, people across Wales are enjoying and taking part in the arts. They help to support and grow this activity. The Arts Council do this by using the public funds that are made available to by the Welsh Government and by distributing the money received as a good cause from the National Lottery.
By managing and investing these funds in creative activity, the Arts Council contributes to people’s quality of life and to the cultural, social and economic well-being of Wales.
Being a partner in CELF helps the Arts Council of Wales to make sure that public funding is shared more fairly and makes contemporary art more accessible to the people of Wales. This major investment supports the nine galleries that form part of the CELF network to improve their facilities, offers new opportunities to artists and audiences, and helps grow a thriving contemporary art scene through a strong network of galleries, arts venues, and organisations.
