Newport Museum and Art Gallery: telling the story of Newport’s history, culture and environment since 1888.

Newport Museum and Art Gallery is dedicated to the interpretation of Newport’s past and present through objects and artworks collected since it opened to the public in 1888.

In the Art Gallery visitors can explore Newport’s collection of local, Welsh and British paintings, find inspiration in Iris Fox’s collection of decorative art and marvel at the extensive range of teapots donated to Newport Museum and Art Gallery by John and Elizabeth Wait.

The Gallery is also home to a programme of changing exhibitions of varied themes and subjects and hosts a range of activities and events throughout the year.
